Den årlige ROOTs-konferansen er et forum for presentasjon, debatt og studie av de siste teoriene og praksis innen objektorientering. Du møter blant annet BEKKs fagsjef Trond Arve Wasskog som med sitt foredrag "The Agile Architect". ROOTS arrangeres i år 26-28 april på Bergen Kongressenter.
"Agile principles state that architecture should evolve in an incremental manner, continually adjusting to the requirements at hand. There is no room for Big Design Up Front, the traditional way of designing architecture top-down. So, is there room for an agile architect? I believe there is still demand for the agile architect. However, the role, expectations and craft has changed significantly; I function more like a coach than a decisive technical dictator. However, being responsible for the architecture is an opportunity to provide leadership. The agile architect must guide the development of an incremental and evolving architecture supporting agile practices. Application development is inherently complex, experience and deep knowledge will always be required. The responsibility is still the same; the agile architect is responsible for delivering a sound and flexible architecture supporting the requirements of the application, but no more."
